Talk It Out NC Partners with Coach Mack Brown

Talk It Out NC is proud to partner with UNC Head Football Coach Mack Brown. Together, we can tackle underage drinking in North Carolina. Coach Brown is a football coaching legend, and we’re delighted to have him back in the Tar Heel state. His first head coaching position was at Appalachian State University before moving on to positions at the University of Oklahoma, Tulane University and then the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Taking the Tar Heels to the Next Level

Coach Brown rose to national prominence during his first tenure with UNC from 1988 to 1997. During that time, Brown revitalized the UNC-Chapel Hill football program. Brown’s efforts led to several bowl games and nationally ranked teams. This breathed new life into the football team and helped it to emerge from the shadow of the university’s dominant basketball team.

Grabbing Football by the Longhorns

Brown left UNC in 1997 to accept the head coaching position at the University of Texas. After spending many successful years with the Longhorns, including a 2005 BCS National Championship and a 2006 Rose Bowl victory, Coach Brown resigned as the Texas head coach in 2013.

Return to UNC and Talk It Out NC

In 2018, Mack Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Later that year he agreed to return to North Carolina as the new head coach of the UNC football team.

We’re thrilled and honored to be collaborating with Coach Brown. We look forward to continuing to work with him in our mission to prevent underage drinking and watching him as he takes the field with the Tar Heels this fall.
